Mr. Dimgong Rongmei

An Indigenous development practitioner, education reformer, humanitarian leader, and Executive Director of the Realm of Nature-Based Actions (RNBA). He has dedicated over 25 years to advancing sustainable development and climate resilience across Northeast India. His academic background spans botany and applied conflict transformation, complemented by professional diplomas in leadership development and sustainable agriculture. Dimgong pioneered community-led models like the Landscape Functional Zones Framework and Forest Restoration of Locally Important Species (FORLIS). His field initiatives successfully integrate Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT) with traditional Indigenous farming systems. He actively promotes biodiversity conservation, customary land governance, women's leadership, and the empowerment of vulnerable tribal groups. He has built institutional capacity across civil society organisations in Northeast India, led major relief and livelihood efforts during the Manipur crisis, and founded the Tazei Foundation, which promotes education rooted in constitutional values and environmental stewardship.
