Community stewardship initative

Formally constituted in October 2025 at Dimapur, Nagaland, the alliance brings together civil society, non-governmental organisations,  Clan elders and regional leaders from Northeast India, to centrestage Northeast India’s stewardship practices & customary governance systems within global nature-based solutions finances and actions, CLANS leverages from the approved IUCN Motion 105 (World Conservation Congress 2025, Abu Dhabi). Moved by some of its members, this motion recognised the critical importance of dedicated and adaptive funding to support community stewardship, that is easily accessible to Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities.
